St. Louis de Montfort said: “But always remember that the more you leave Mary to act in your Communion, the more Jesus will be glorified” (“True Devotion to Mary”, #273).
Short Introduction
While translating the works of several well-respected and highly-regarded Montfort Fathers, I kept noticing they recommended a particular book, which, incidentally, was not written by one of their own.
Being curious and eager to read this book, I was able to track it down and translate it. The book is called “The Communion of Mary, Mother of God”. It quickly became clear why the Montfort Fathers recommended this book: it over-delivers, and it’s in perfect harmony with the Marian devotion taught by St. Louis de Montfort.
This is particularly noteworthy, because the Montfort Fathers are well aware St. Louis de Montfort said:
“As a counterfeiter does not ordinarily counterfeit anything but gold and silver, or very rarely the other metals, because they are not worth the trouble, so the evil spirit does not for the most part counterfeit the other devotions, but only those to Jesus and Mary, the devotion to Holy Communion, and to our Blessed Lady, because they are, amongst other devotions, what gold and silver are amongst metals” (“True Devotion to Mary”, #90).

“The Immaculata is a totally godlike being existing on an infinitely higher plane than all that surrounds you. She will be revealing herself to you through the sentences you read and will suggest thoughts, convictions, affections which have probably not even entered the author’s mind.
“Do not begin to read before you have prayed to her. Do not try to read much, but interrupt your reading by lifting up your heart to her, especially when various affections arise in your heart. And when you finish your reading, confide to her the task of bringing forth in you an ever more bountiful harvest. Read not out of curiosity, but rather read a little well.
“We should put into practice what we have read. It is sufficient to dedicate five minutes daily to the reading, but be resolute, and do not omit these five minutes any day. This will be an assurance of advancement in perfection.”
