Attention Marian Devotee…
Fascinating Facts You Should Know About Devotion
To The Most Blessed Virgin Mary
To The Most Blessed Virgin Mary
Dear Marian Devotee,
In the spiritual life, the single, biggest obstacle to growing closer to God and enjoying the closest possible friendship with Him is not knowing how to joyfully carry the cross after Jesus.
And unless we carry the cross after Jesus, He says we can’t be His followers…
“And he that takes not up his cross, and follow Me, is not worthy of Me” (Mt. 10:38).
“And whosoever does not carry his cross and come after Me, cannot be My disciple” (Lk. 14:27).
So this is a non-negotiable. We have to get this handled.
But the simple fact of the matter is… most of us Catholics have never been shown how to carry our crosses after Jesus, let alone joyfully.
And it’s not something we can just ignore, because it’s…
“…through many tribulations we must enter into the kingdom of God” (Acts 14:21).
I remember at one time in my life feeling like St. Louis-Marie de Montfort was speaking directly to me when he wrote…
“True, you speak well of the Cross in general, but not of the one that comes your way. You shun this as much as you can or else you drag it along reluctantly, grumbling, impatient and protesting” (“The Love of Eternal Wisdom”, Ch. 14, #2).
Well, believe it or not, it’s easier than you think to carry your cross after Jesus, even joyfully.
Here’s why…
St. Louis-Marie de Montfort revealed…
“Predestinate soul, here is a secret the Most High has taught me, which I have not been able to find in any book, old or new. I confide it to you, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit” (“The Secret of Mary”, #1).
And when you know how to use this secret (as I’m going to show you in a bit), he assures you that it helps you carry your crosses easily…

“But I maintain that it is also the servants of Mary who carry these crosses with more ease, more merit, and more glory. That which would stay the progress of another a thousand times over, or perhaps would make him fall, does not once arrest their steps, but rather enables them to advance” (“True Devotion to Mary”, #154).
Now, perhaps you’re thinking, “I know all about St. Louis de Montfort. I’ve read the “True Devotion to Mary”, and I consecrated to myself to Mary.”
Hold on a second.
Even though those things may be true, do you really…
“Count it all joy when you meet various trials” (James 1:2)?
Can you genuinely say with St. Paul…
“I exceedingly abound with joy in all our tribulation” (2 Cor. 7:4)?
If you aren’t at the point yet where your devotion to Mary isn’t helping you abound with joy in your tribulation…
Don’t worry. We’re going to solve that problem before you reach the end of this short message.
Because this devotion isn’t just about helping you carry the cross in Jesus’ footsteps, which He says is necessary for all of us.
It’s also about helping you do so with great joy.
St. Louis promises you…
“Experience will teach you much more about this devotion than I can tell you; and if you remain faithful to the little I have taught you, you will find so many rich fruits of grace in this practice that you will be surprised and filled with joy” (Secret, #53).
And…
“Only experience can teach the wonders wrought by Mary, wonders so great that neither the wise nor the proud, nor even many of the devout can believe them” (Secret, #57).
Now, he doesn’t promise you this will all happen overnight, because he says the speed with which this devotion works depends on you…
“For this secret works its effect in a soul only in proportion to the use made of it” (Secret, #1).

The fact that God revealed this devotion is proof enough that it’s superior to any devotion to Mary you’ve ever tried or heard of.
That’s why Blessed Pope Pius IX declared that St. Louis’ devotion to Mary was the best and most acceptable form of devotion to Our Lady.
And Pope Pius XI said: “I have practiced this devotion ever since my youth.”
In the Marian Year of 1954, Pope Pius XII stated…
“Whoever has consecrated himself to Mary belongs to her in a special way. He has become as it were a sanctuary of the Most Holy Virgin.”

“Never the Cross without Jesus, or Jesus without the Cross” (St. Louis-Marie de Montfort, “The Love of Eternal Wisdom”, Ch. 14, #1).
There’s no getting around the fact that the cross will always be a part of your life, because…
“For whom the Lord loves, He chastises; and He scourges every son whom He receives. Endure your trials as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons” (Heb. 12:6-8).
Even more importantly, St. Paul tells us about God the Father…
“For those He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He might be the firstborn among many brothers” (Rom. 8:29).
And we know…
“He who spared not even his own Son, but delivered him up for us all” (Rom. 8:32).
If God the Father wants you to be conformed to the image of His Son, then what’s more important than imitating Jesus in the best way possible?
Nothing, really.
St. Paul realized that joyfully carrying the cross draws you closer to God faster and easier than anything else you can do.
That’s why he said:
“With Christ I am nailed to the cross. And I live, now not I; but Christ lives in me” (Gal. 2:19-20).
He said that he was “caught up to the third heaven…and heard secret words, which it is not granted man to utter” (2 Cor. 12:2, 4).

And yet he said…
“For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1 Cor. 2:2).
And elsewhere…
“But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ; by whom the world is crucified to me, and I to the world” (Gal. 6:14).
That’s why he went so far as to say, “Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ” (1 Cor. 1:11).
God the Father said: “This is My most beloved Son. Listen to Him” (Mk. 9:6).
And Jesus said… “Because I always do what is pleasing to Him” (Jn. 8:29).
This devotion guarantees you’ll be conformed to the image of the Son and be pleasing to the Father, because St. Louis emphasizes that it…
“…is a path trodden by Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom, our sole Head. One of His members in passing by the same road cannot deceive himself” (True Devotion, #168).
And that’s why he declared…
“Oh, how highly we glorify God, when, to please Him, we submit ourselves to Mary, after the example of Jesus Christ, our sole Exemplar!” (True Devotion, #18)
And a bit later…
“Oh, how highly we glorify God, when, after the example of Jesus, we submit ourselves to Mary!” (True Devotion, #139)
St. Paul also tells us…
“For let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Ph. 2:5).
And this was the mind of Jesus…
“Father, if You are willing, take this cup away from Me; still, not My will but Yours be done” (Lk. 22:42).
That’s arguably the most difficult prayer for us to pray when we’re experiencing trials. But that’s the attitude God the Father wants us to have, because He wants us to be conformed to the image of His Son.

This devotion to Mary makes it so much easier for you to have Jesus’ attitude. That’ll be an assurance of your eternal salvation, because Jesus told us…
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven” (Mt. 7:21).
And that’s why St. Louis declared…
“Having, then, before our eyes an example so plain and so well-known to the whole world, are we so senseless as to imagine that we can find a more perfect or a shorter means of glorifying God than that of submitting ourselves to Mary, after the example of her Son?” (True Devotion, #139)
God’s message is clear: The only road to heaven is the road of the cross.
And because He “wills everyone to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth” (1 Tim. 2:4), no one is exempt.
That’s why St. Louis says: “Never the Cross without Jesus, or Jesus without the Cross” (“The Love of Eternal Wisdom”, Ch. 14, #1).
And to make it as easy as it’ll ever be for you in this life to follow Jesus on the way of the cross, I’d now like to introduce you to the…

“True Devotion To Mary Series”
Now the first question that might’ve popped into your mind is, “Why do I need some books to help me understand the “True Devotion to Mary” and St. Louis’ Marian spirituality? I can read his books on my own.”
And that’s true. You can read them on your own.
But here’s what St. Louis says is the sad truth about most people who try to go it alone…
“As the essential of this devotion consists in the interior which it ought to form, it will not be equally comprehended by everybody. Some will stop at what is exterior in it, and will go no further, and these will be the greatest number.
“Who will mount to the second step? Who will get as far as the third? Lastly, who will so advance as to make this devotion his habitual state?” (True Devotion, #119).
“I have found many people who, with admirable zeal, have adopted the exterior practices of this holy slavery of Jesus and Mary, but I have found only a few who have accepted its interior spirit, and still fewer who have persevered in it” (Secret, #44).
Plus, he admitted…
“I have now said many things about the Most Holy Virgin; but I have many more to say, and there are infinitely more which I shall omit, whether from ignorance, inability, or want of time” (True Devotion, #111).
“As I have not much time for writing, nor you for reading, I shall say everything as briefly as possible” (Secret, #2).
And that’s true. You can read them on your own.

What is the “True Devotion To Mary Series” exactly?
This is the first and only series of its kind. It covers everything you could ever want to know about St. Louis-Marie de Montfort’s Marian spirituality.
The “True Devotion To Mary Series” is a collection of 10 books (all of which are stand-alone), that explain everything you need to know about this devotion, so you can be sure of succeeding where St. Louis says most people fail.
There’s a LOT of books out there on Marian devotion. What makes these different?
Most books on devotion to Mary teach you exterior practices of Marian devotion. And while the books in this Series do that as well, the main focus of these books is to help you easily accept the interior spirit of this devotion. And that’s because St. Louis emphasizes that your success in carrying the cross joyfully depends on it.
Here’s the thing. St. Louis emphasizes that this devotion to Mary…
“…is one of these secrets of grace, unknown by the greater number of Christians, known even to few of the devout, and practiced and relished by a far less number still” (True Devotion, #82).
The good news for you is that the authors of the books in this Series were a few of the people who understood this secret.
They make using this devotion totally digestible.
You’ll appreciate their writing styles, because they make it easy to stay engaged.
There’s no other series on the market that teaches this comprehensive system of understanding St. Louis-Marie de Montfort’s Marian spirituality. It’s a complete plan that you can’t find anywhere else. It’s the most comprehensive collection ever created, with every strategy to help you grow closer to Jesus through Mary as quickly and easily as possible.
Each book covers a different aspect of living this devotion to Mary. Best of all, they’ll give a tremendous boost to your devotion to Mary even if you’re not consecrated to her yet.
Think of it like this…
Steve Jobs once gave a talk, during which he said…
“Let’s look at automobiles. Compare a Volkswagen Rabbit, a dump truck, and a Mercedes Benz, let’s say. They all have transmissions, they all have engines, four wheels, seats. Basically, they all perform the same basic function: transportation. The difference is emphasis. There’s a difference in emphasis. And that’s what we’re going to look at doing – computers with a different emphasis.”
These books discuss, in great detail, everything from preparing for your consecration to Mary all the way to preparing for the End Times in union with her.
They fill in all the gaps St. Louis admits are in his writings, and they expand on the topics he only mentioned briefly.

Here’s Everything You Get In The “True Devotion To Mary Series”
Book #1
“The Holy Slavery of the Admirable Mother of God”
by Father Henri-Marie Boudon
by Father Henri-Marie Boudon
This was St. Louis-Marie de Montfort’s favorite Marian book.
Canon Blain, his best friend, reported:
“As Louis-Marie devoted a lot of time to spiritual reading, he became familiar with nearly all books dealing with the spiritual life. Those which in my opinion were his favorites were those by the late Fr. Boudon.
“He would have liked everybody to join the society of the slaves of the Blessed Virgin. The source of this zeal was the book “The Holy Slavery of the Admirable Mother of God” written on this subject by the late Fr. Boudon.”
And Montfort Father Jean-Marie Texier stated:
“The writings of this holy priest (Fr. Boudon) charmed the fervent seminarian (St. Louis) in his free time and gave a lively impulse to his momentum toward the good. But none captivated him as much as “The Holy Slavery of the Admirable Mother of God”.
“It is a rich repertoire from which Montfort drew extensively when he composed his “Treatise on the True Devotion”. One finds, in effect, in the writings of Montfort, the thoughts of Boudon, and sometimes even his expressions.”
This book lays the foundation for your devotion and consecration to Mary. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been practicing devotion to Mary for decades… or if you’re just getting started with it. This book shows you how to easily make use of this devotion so you can make progress in a fraction of the time.

“Consecration to the Blessed Virgin according to St. Louis de Montfort”
by Fr. H. Desmulliers
by Fr. H. Desmulliers
This book explains the whats, whys and hows of consecration to Mary. It helps accelerate your progress, because it’s two-books-in-one. The second book is “Why Consecrate Myself To The Immaculate Heart Of Mary?”
You’ll discover many things that various Popes said about devotion to Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart which you didn’t know existed. Although this book is an excellent primer on consecration to Mary, it’s suitable even for the more advanced.

“Preparation for Consecration to the Most Blessed Virgin”
by Montfort Father Jean-Marie Texier
by Montfort Father Jean-Marie Texier
As you saw above, St. Louis said most people have no idea how to use their consecration to Mary to its full capabilities. According to the Montfort Fathers, this guide to preparing for your consecration is as close as you can come to being prepared by St. Louis himself.
It’s why they praised it more than any other book on preparing for your consecration to her, and gave it their highest recommendation. They stated…
“These meditations are the work of a Montfortian missionary (Fr. Texier), about whom we have said: “He loved the Most Blessed Virgin with the heart of a child; he spoke of her with the heart of his Blessed Father (St. Louis).”
Fr. Texier teaches you the ins and outs of properly preparing for your consecration to Mary. He was also St. Louis’ biographer. And he includes previously untranslated examples from St. Louis’ life, so you get to see the True Devotion to Mary in action. These examples are only available in this book.
You’ll discover new strategies to help you prepare for or renew your consecration to Mary, just by leveraging the power of the examples from St. Louis’ life.
If you’re relatively new to consecration to Mary, or you want to renew your consecration… you’re going to love how simple this guide is. You’ll get up-to-speed fast, without any stress or struggle.
You’re going to skip all of the mistakes and hard lessons other people make, because they don’t have these examples, and you’ll instantly upgrade your spiritual life, overcoming a ton of blocks in the process.
This is the only book on preparing for your consecration that includes an example from the saintly life of Father René Mulot, the first Superior General of the Company of Mary (Montfort Fathers) after St. Louis-Marie.

Book #4
“To Jesus through Mary”
by Montfort Father Jean-Marie Texier
by Montfort Father Jean-Marie Texier
This is Fr. Texier’s follow-up book to his guide on preparing for your consecration to Mary. The more you know about consecration to Mary, the more progress you’ll make. Fr. Texier takes you behind the scenes, and breaks down in simple steps everything you need, so you can accelerate your progress in living your consecration to Mary.
St. Louis calls this devotion to Mary “…a secret unknown to almost all Christians, even the most devout” (True Devotion, #177). In the second full paragraph on page 23, Fr. Texier tells you what the secret is. In fact, he writes: “We now know his secret.” And then he tells you what it is.
You read above where St. Louis asked “Who will so advance as to make this devotion his habitual state?” Well, on page 122, Fr. Texier reveals how to “remain in Mary as a permanent state.”
In growing closer to Jesus through Mary, St. Louis says it’s just as important to know what to avoid as it is to know what to do. St. Louis-warned:
“There are at this time, more than ever, false devotions to our Blessed Lady which it is easy to mistake for true ones. The devil, like a counterfeiter and a subtle and experienced deceiver, has already deceived and destroyed so many souls by a false devotion to the Blessed Virgin, that he makes a daily use of his diabolical experience to plunge many others by this same way into everlasting perdition.
“As a counterfeiter does not ordinarily counterfeit anything but gold and silver, or very rarely the other metals, because they are not worth the trouble, so the evil spirit does not for the most part counterfeit the other devotions, but only those to Jesus and Mary, the devotion to Holy Communion, and to our Blessed Lady, because they are, among other devotions, what gold and silver are amongst metals” (True Devotion, #90).
Now, on pages 130-132, Fr. Texier gives you 3 signs of Mary’s presence in your soul which it’s impossible for the devil to counterfeit. Knowing these 3 things alone is worth the price of this book.
All of these things are just part of the reason why, in the history of their religious order, the Montfort Fathers called Fr. Texier “a remarkable spiritual writer”.

Book #5
“Preparation for Holy Communion with Mary
in the Spirit of Blessed de Montfort”
by Montfort Father Jean-Marie Texier
in the Spirit of Blessed de Montfort”
by Montfort Father Jean-Marie Texier
This is another masterpiece from Fr. Texier. It’s the only one of its kind. Fr. Texier dedicated this entire book to showing you how to apply this devotion to preparing for Holy Communion with Mary. You’ll discover some advanced techniques. He reveals the hidden frameworks to help you accept the interior spirit of this devotion as you prepare for Holy Communion with Mary.
This book gives you access to the treasure trove of the secret God revealed to St. Louis, so you can easily make use of it to prepare for Holy Communion with Mary.
In Chapter 7, he tells you a secret of grace (p. 26).
In Chapter 15, he reveals “the secret of our perfect devotion” (p. 64 – last paragraph).
And in Chapter 16 (the next to last paragraph), he reveals exactly what “the secret of holiness is” (p. 69).

Book #6
“The Virgin Mary and the Apostles of the Last Times”
by Montfort Father Antonin Lhoumeau
by Montfort Father Antonin Lhoumeau
This book is the only complete book which shows you how to use this devotion to prepare for what Jesus says will be the most terrifying times in the history of planet earth.
“For in those days shall be such tribulations, as were not from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, neither shall be. And unless the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh should be saved” (Mk. 13:19-20).
Fr. Lhoumeau writes:
“As the battle becomes widespread and intensified, the Marian devotion of St. Louis-Marie de Montfort, already so well adapted to the needs of his time, spreads in a surprising way and proves to be a weapon of choice in the hands of the children of the Virgin” (p. 22).
The Montfort Fathers stated:
“Abbé Antonin Lhoumeau was a man gifted with great talents. Fr. Lhoumeau made an enormous contribution to the spread of Marian spirituality. He wrote books which were very well received.”
Jesus teaches that the grace of final perseverance is necessary for salvation.
“But he that shall persevere unto the end, he shall be saved” (Mt. 10:22).
And…
“But he that shall persevere to the end, he shall be saved” (Mt. 24:13).
Which means that he who doesn’t persevere to the end won’t be saved.
And the good news is that when you practice this devotion to Mary, St. Louis assures you…
“She obtains fidelity to God and final perseverance for those who attach themselves to her” (True Devotion, #175).
Fr. Lhoumeau shows you how to obtain the grace of final perseverance.

Book #7
“Commentary on the Treatise on the True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin”
by Montfort Father Armand Plessis
by Montfort Father Armand Plessis
If you were to read only one book from this entire series, let this be the one. Because it’s the ONLY book the Montfort Fathers have ever said is essential to understanding not only the “True Devotion to Mary”, but St. Louis’ Marian spirituality as a whole.
They stated…
“The “Commentary on the Treatise on the True Devotion” points out everything the reader must know or remember in order to penetrate completely the immortal masterpiece of St. Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort. It is an essential book for whoever desires to learn the Perfect Devotion.”
And they declared that this Commentary…
“…furnishes to readers everything they must know in order to understand and appreciate the doctrine of Bl. Louis-Marie de Montfort.”
The Vatican echoed the Montfort Fathers.
The Vatican’s Substitute Secretary of State, Giovanni Battista Montini (the future Pope St. Paul VI), wrote a letter to Montfort Father Armand Plessis (the author), in which he says this Commentary is “completely penetrated with the Marian piety which animated Bl. Grignion de Montfort.”
This Commentary shortens your learning curve by an order of magnitude. If Pope St. John Paul II had read this Commentary, he wouldn’t have told the Montfort Fathers…
“It is from Montfort that I have taken my motto: “Totus tuus” (“I am all thine”). Someday I’ll have to tell you Montfortians how I discovered De Montfort’s “Treatise on True Devotion to Mary”, and how often I had to reread it to understand it.
As you know, the “True Devotion to Mary” is divided into 273 numbered sections. Fr. Plessis wrote this 475 page Commentary to correspond to the numbering in the True Devotion. Want to know what St. Louis meant in section 95 (or any section)? Just look up that number in this Commentary. It’s that easy.

Three Kindle-Only Books
I put these here, because you won’t find them on the “Books” page. The information in these books is so important, I couldn’t wait for the paperback covers to be finished.
“The Holy Mass in Union with Our Lady” by Montfort Father J.M. Huppers
How do you attend Mass in the best way, so you can live in union with God? You make use of the devotion which St. Louis promises you…
“She (Mary) unites them to Him with a most intimate union, and she keeps them unshaken in that union” (True Devotion, #211).
In this book, Montfort Father J.M. Huppers reveals how you can use this devotion to Our Lady at Holy Mass, from the opening Sign of the Cross all the way until the final dismissal.
He writes:
“We shall zealously try to apply St. Louis-Marie de Montfort’s Marian method to this central action of predominant importance. We want to be like the beloved disciple, led to Calvary by the maternal hand of Mary.”
“Thanksgiving With Mary In The Spirit Of St. Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort”
This is the fourth masterpiece in this Series by Fr. Texier. In this book, he gives you 24 new and different ways to make your thanksgiving after Holy Communion with Mary, so you can live in constant union with Jesus.
“Consecration to Mary and the Baptismal Promises according to Saint Louis-Marie de Montfort” by Montfort Father Jean-Maurice Bonin
St. Louis-Marie wrote…
“Hence it comes to pass that the most perfect consecration to Jesus Christ is nothing else but a perfect and entire consecration of ourselves to the Blessed Virgin, and this is the devotion which I teach; or, in other words, a perfect renewal of the vows and promises of holy Baptism” (True Devotion, #120).
And he emphasizes that joining consecration to Mary with your baptismal promises isn’t a casual matter:
“Neither is it a matter of indifference; because the principal source of all disorders, and consequently of the eternal perdition of Christians, comes from their forgetfulness and indifference about this practice” (True Devotion, #131).
This book reveals more about the connection between consecration to Mary and your baptismal promises than the Catechism of the Council of Trent, the Baltimore Catechism, and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, combined. Because none of them ever mention it.

And that’s not all!
These are three books by the great Marianist Father Emil Neubert.
St. Maximilian Kolbe was so impressed by Fr. Neubert’s Marian books that he told his fellow Franciscans…
“He has the exact same spirit as we have.”
Why, you may be wondering, are his three books included here?
Because St. Maximilian also told his fellow Franciscans: “The devotion taught by Blessed Grignion (St. Louis) is ours exactly.”
In other words, when it comes to devotion to Mary, St. Louis and Fr. Neubert are on the same page.
Whereas St. Louis taught this Marian devotion to everyone in general in his missions, Fr. Neubert wrote books to explain this Marian devotion to everyone in all states of life.
So, even though Fr. Neubert’s books aren’t part of the “True Devotion To Mary Series”, per se, they’re written in the exact same spirit.
A respected priest who knew Father Neubert said he was “the only man I ever knew who could speak incessantly of the Blessed Virgin and always had something informative and interesting to say.”
So, his books aren’t recycled information. They’re an original approach.
Frank Duff, Founder of the Legion of Mary, was also a huge fan of Fr. Neubert’s Marian books.
Independently of one another, St. Maximilian Kolbe and Frank Duff reached out and struck up friendships with Fr. Neubert.
They encouraged everyone to read his Marian books.
St. Maximilian and Fr. Neubert used to write letters back and forth. St. Maximilian even translated one of his books.
And Mr. Duff tirelessly promoted Fr. Neubert’s books throughout Ireland.
Furthermore, Pope St. John XXIII told Mr. Duff: “The Legion of Mary presents the true face of the Catholic Church.”
And if you’ve ever read “The Official Handbook of the Legion of Mary”, you know the Legion’s spirituality is based entirely on the Marian spirituality of St. Louis-Marie de Montfort.

“The Marian Writings of St. Robert Bellarmine”
I couldn’t leave this one out, because when Pope Clement VIII named St. Robert a cardinal, he said…
“The Church of God has not his equal in learning.”
“The Church of God has not his equal in learning.”
This collection of St. Robert’s Marian writings will rapidly draw you closer to Mary. It’s your best one-two punch when it comes to advancing quickly in both Marian doctrine and devotion.
And, for the first time in English, you’ll see previously untranslated biographical material about St. Robert, showing you how he lived his own devotion to Mary.
In fact, he shows you precisely how to “learn from the example of Mary.” Which means you’ll know how to joyfully carry the cross after her Son.
St. Peter tells us: “Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope” (1 Pt. 3:15).
St. Robert gives you those explanations.
What’s most impressive is that he defended Marian dogmas, such as the Immaculate Conception and Assumption, centuries before the Church formally defined them.
He brilliantly defends Our Lady’s Perpetual Virginity, and her other privileges.
You’ll love his defense of the Salve Regina (Hail Holy Queen). Whereas St. Alphonsus Liguori wrote about it from a devotional point of view, St. Robert discusses it from an apologetics point of view.
This collection also includes his Marian sermons and sermon fragments.

Your Ultimate Shortcut
The “True Devotion To Mary Series” is the ultimate shortcut to helping you follow in Jesus’ footsteps, so you can joyfully carry whatever crosses He may send you or allow to come your way.
St. Louis assures you…
“As there are secrets of nature to do in a short time at little cost and with ease, natural operations, so also in like manner there are secrets in the order of grace to do in a short time with sweetness and ease, supernatural operations” (True Devotion, #82).
“Let us remember, I repeat it for the second time, that Mary is the great and exclusive mold of God, proper to make living images of God, at small cost and in a little time” (True Devotion, #260).

What St. Louis-Marie Insists Most Of The Saints Couldn’t Tell You
St. Louis-Marie calls this devotion to Mary…
…a mystery of grace unknown to even the wisest and most spiritual among Christians” (True Devotion, #21).
That’s the reason why what you’re about to discover in these books isn’t what you’ll find in the writings of most of the Saints.
Because St. Louis says most of them didn’t know this devotion.
“There have been some Saints, but they have been in small numbers, who have passed by this sweet path to go to Jesus, because the Holy Ghost, faithful Spouse of Mary, has by a singular grace disclosed it to them.
“But the rest of the Saints, who are the greater number, although they have all had devotion to our Blessed Lady, have not on that account, or at least very little, entered upon this way. This is why they have had to pass through harder and more dangerous trials” (True Devotion, #152).
And so, if you’ve been reading the writings of the Saints, because you’re sincerely trying to joyfully carry your cross after Jesus, and don’t feel like you’ve made much progress, now you know the reason why.
As great as they are, the Saints couldn’t teach you what they didn’t know.
Remember, St. Louis said this devotion…
“…is one of these secrets of grace, unknown by the greater number of Christians, known even to few of the devout, and practiced and relished by a far less number still” (True Devotion, #82).
Why would God want you to know a devotion to Mary which He didn’t reveal to most of His Saints?
St. Louis says…
“God wishes that His holy Mother should be at present more known, more loved, more honored than she has ever been” (True Devotion, #55).
And besides, St. Paul tells us…
“O the depth of the riches of the wisdom and of the knowledge of God! How incomprehensible are His judgments, and how unsearchable His ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor?” (Rom. 11:33-34)

Mary, the “Cause of our joy”
When you see how easy the authors in this Series explain this devotion, you’ll have no doubt as to whether or not any of the books will work for you. They wouldn’t have received the endorsements you’ve read if they were hard to understand and apply.
Jesus tells us…
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch of mine that bears no fruit, He takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. (Jn. 15:1-2).
Now, pruning is typically not an enjoyable experience. But it’s necessary in God’s plan.
Jesus said: “Those whom I love, I reprove and chastise” (Apoc. 3:19).
“And He said to all: If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me” (Lk. 9:23).
Now, Mary won’t take away all trials, because she knows…
“The disciple is not above his Master: but every one shall be perfect, if he be as his Master” (Lk. 6:40).
And…
“The servant is not greater than his Master” (Jn. 15:20).
St. Louis knows that although carrying the cross after Jesus is necessary, it’s also not the most appealing aspect of the spiritual life. That’s why he encourages you in many places…
“This devotion to the Blessed Virgin is a short road to find Jesus Christ, both because it is a road which we do not stray from, and because, as I have said, it is a road we tread with joy and ease, and, by consequence, with speed” (True Devotion, #155).
“This does not mean that he who has found Mary by a true devotion will be exempt from crosses and sufferings. Far from it; he is more besieged by them than others are, because Mary, the Mother of the living, gives to all her children portions of the Tree of Life, which is the Cross of Jesus.
“But along with their crosses she also imparts the grace to carry them patiently and even cheerfully; and thus it is that the crosses which she lays upon those who belong to her are rather steeped in sweetness than filled with bitterness.
“If for a while her children feel the bitterness of the cup which one must needs drink in order to be the friend of God, the consolation and joy which this good Mother sends after the trial encourage them exceedingly to carry still heavier and more painful crosses” (Secret, #22).
“No matter what sorrows afflict him, he will find joy and consolation” (Eternal Wisdom, Ch. 4, #21).
“The cross, then, is the portion and reward of those who desire or already possess eternal Wisdom. But our loving Savior numbers, weighs and measures everything and sends crosses to His friends in proportion to their strength, and tempers them with divine unction to such an extent that their hearts are filled with joy” (Eternal Wisdom, Ch. 8, #5).
“My dear brothers and sisters, have faith in the word of God, for the Holy Spirit tells us that when we suffer cheerfully for God, the cross is the source of every kind of joy for all kinds of people.
“The joy that comes from the cross is greater than that of a poor man who suddenly comes into a fortune, or of a peasant who is raised to the throne; greater than the joy of a trader who becomes a millionaire; than of a military leader over the victories he has won; than of prisoners released from their chains.
“In short, imagine the greatest joy that can be experienced on earth, and then realize that the happiness of the one who bears his sufferings in the right way contains, and even surpasses, all of them” (“Letter to the Friends of the Cross”, #34).
“Indeed, is it not the Cross which has given to Jesus Christ “the name which is above all other names, so that all beings in the heavens, on earth and in the underworld should bend the knee at the name of Jesus?” The glory of one who knows how to suffer is so great that heaven, angels and men, and even God himself, gaze on him with joy as a most glorious sight. And if the saints in heaven desired anything, it would be to return to earth so as to bear some crosses” (Friends of the Cross, #38).
“But if this glory is so great even on earth, what will it be in heaven? Who could describe it? Who could ever understand fully that eternal weight of glory which a single moment spent in cheerfully carrying a cross obtains for us? Who could understand the glory gained in heaven by a year, and sometimes a whole lifetime, of crosses and suffering?” (Friends of the Cross, #39)
“You can be sure, my dear Friends of the Cross, that something wonderful is awaiting you, since the Holy Spirit has united you so intimately to that which everyone so carefully avoids” (Friends of the Cross, #40).
Jesus tells us…

“Strive to enter by the narrow gate” (Lk. 13:24).
Jesus said…
“And He said to all: If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me” (Lk. 9:23).
Most people are reluctant to put His words into action. That’s why He calls the road to heaven the “narrow gate”.
“Enter in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat. How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leads to life: and few there are that find it!” (Mt. 7:13-14)
“Strive to enter by the narrow gate; for many, I say to you, shall seek to enter, and shall not be able” (Lk. 13:24).
St. Peter tells us “the just man shall scarcely be saved” (1 Pt. 4:18).
And elsewhere he insists that we “make our calling and election sure” (2 Pt. 1:10).
Since the cross is the way to heaven, and Jesus tells you to carry it daily, doesn’t it make sense to get started today, practicing the devotion that makes it the easiest for you to carry it?
